Bucket List

Our most cherished memories are always those mischievous moments where we throw caution to the wind for the thrill of stepping into the great unknown. Eleanor Roosevelt says, “The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience. My quest for adventure has led me on many experiential journeys (many more to come). What’s on YOUR Bucket List?


My Bucket List – I have:
– Walked on coals
– Attended an all-French preschool in Beirut, Lebanon
– Backpacked solo through South America for a year
– Climbed over the top of the Sydney Bay Bridge
– Jumped off a cliff to hang-glide over Rio De Janiero
– Lived without electricity in the jungles of Ecuador and Bolivia
– Kissed baby monkeys and bottle fed baby cows
– Climbed a 100 foot tree in solidarity of tree sitters
– Auditioned for and was accepted into the Marine Band
– Ridden on the roof of a train down mountain switchbacks in Ecuador
– Swam with dolphins, sea lions and piranha
– Bungee jumped off the Bridge to Nowhere
– Snorkled the Great Barrier Reef
– Played piccolo in the University of Illinois marching band
– Spent 3 summers as a camper and counselor at Interlocen Arts Camp
– Lobbied the state assembly for a tree preservation bill
– Zip-lined through the treetops of Argentina
– Strattled the equator
– Stroked a toucan and made an ocelot purr
– Climbed to the top of Machu Pichu


Some of My Bucket List To-Dos:
– Give a TEDtalk
– Get one of my photos on the cover of National Geographic
– Do something impossible and inspire others to do the same
– Learn the cello and play in an orchestra
– Ice skate in Rockefeller Center
– Do the Gibbons Tree House Experience in Laos
– Watch the sun set in Mykonos, Greece
– Do a year of volunteer service overseas
– See the Midnight Sun
– Explore and photograph all 7 continents (3 done, 4 to go)
– Retire somewhere ropical
